Macintosh was born on April 26, 2003. Dam DCH Niebur's Moon Shadow ROMX and Sire DCH Jagie's Sunkissed Phoenix
ROMO
First and foremost Macintosh is Lynn's "heart dog". Not since grandma Maddie has a dog been so near and dear. Macintosh is a big goober. He loves to be cuddled and his
favorite position is next to Mama Lynn on the couch, on his back under her arm. He loves meeting new people, greeting visiting Niebur dogs, playing with puppies and taking on the duties of "stud dog"
whenever the opportunity presents itself......which is not often enough for Mac!
With the good stuff being said first, Mac, shown awesomely by top Junior
Handler Michael Brunner finished his AKC Bench Championship before he was 1 year old. Some of Mac’s more exciting wins including three majors began with a 5 point major under esteemed breeder judge Mrs.
Diane Young-McCormack from the 6-9 month puppy class at the Greater Portland Dachshund Club 2004 January Specialty Show in Portland. That day Macintosh went on to win Best Puppy in show, Winners Dog, Best of Winners
in the Smooth Variety, Best of Opposite Sex To Best Smooth Variety and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in Specialty Show.
One month later, Macintosh competing at the 2004 National Dachshund Club
of America Specialty Show was awarded Smooth Variety Reserve Winners Dog by Ms. Ann Gordon. Macintosh and Michael went on to finish his AKC Bench Championship one month later by going Best of Variety over
specials at the Timberland Dog Fanciers All Breed Show.
After Finishing, Macintosh has been shown in the Breed ring sparingly. He
was featured as Best Smooth Dachshund and pulled for the final cut in Hound Group by longtime Smooth Breeder judge Mr. John Wade at the 2005 Portland Rose City Classic Eukanuba Championship Dog Show. This show was
aired on Animal Planet in April of 2005.
Since then Macintosh and Dave have been attending AKC Field Trials where
Mac took a first place in Open All Age Dog Stakes at the Santa Ana Valley DC Field trial in November of 2004. He and Dave is quite a pair in the field and Mac has taken after his mom Chrissy, grandmother Annie,
great-grandmother Maddie and other great Niebur Dachshunds as a great hunter in the field.
Macintosh hit the AKC Earthdog tests in September of 2005 and in two
tests earned his AKC Junior Earthdog title. He also is one of a handful of Dachshunds in the United States to have attained a BTCA Hunting Hound title. This is a test offered by the Basset Club of America to
scent hounds that measure the hound's ability to seek, bolt, track, pass a gun test for shyness and voice on live quarry in the field.
Esteemed Dachshund breeder judge Mrs. Diane Young
McCormack awarded Macintosh a Best In Specialty Show win at the New Mexico Dachshund Club show in May of 2006. Mac and Dave were hot in the field earning another placement from the Champion Class at Dachshund
Field Trials You can see Macintosh and his sister April in the video of the 2006 Westminster Kennel Club Show
Macintosh has succeeded in accomplishing much in the ring, the field and
the whelping box. Mac is an all around terrific representation of the breed and his sons and daughters continue his winning ways. Look for them in the ring and field in the years to come! .
