Dave and Lynn's first best love of AKC
events are Dachshund Field Trials. This is an event where Dachshunds are judged on their inherent and natural instincts to track live quarry. In this country that means jackrabbits and cottontails.
Here in Oregon and Washington you will find the cottontail in abundance and if you have the chance to observe or run your Dachshund at the Northern California trials jackrabbits are the quarry of
choice.
Our first AKC Field Champion was first homebred dog FCH Niebur's Max-A-Million, CG, JE, CGC. Max had a rough time of it to start with but Dave and I kept at it and Max bloomed in
the field, you might say, and learned to love, look forward too and get completely crazy about field trials. His dam Misha soon followed Max with her AKC Field Trial Championship title and more
then two decades since Misha came to live with us, Niebur Dachshunds are better than they ever have been in the field. Most of the dogs we keep are Dual Champions and many who have gone on to wonderful
homes are now Dual Champions.
We have been working on these lines for two decades or more and have been thrilled to know that many of the pups born over the last two years are voicing on line and
have become Dual Champions in their own right. We intend to continue to carefully breed are dogs to combine pedigrees that will enhance even more this keenness to work in the field.
