 New York City

So much to tell you all.....first of all we have the two most beautiful young women here, Miss Holly and Miss Jessica, working so hard to take care of our wonderful show dogs! Through even a blizzard they are hard on the job making sure that Mac and April are exercised and loved so that Carrie and I do not have one worry! What a Godsend to have them here.

Today was a fun day...we woke up this morning, we and the girls had breakfast in bed and then because darling Macintosh does not like to be left in the hotel I waved good by to Carrie and the girls and they set off in a cab to Ground Zero. I know the girls folks wanted them to see it and I felt it was important for them to be there too. It seemed to make a big impression as they were rather quiet when they returned. I’ve sent photos to be uploaded to the site so check back often.

When the girls came back I jumped in a cab and met Carrie and her Aunt Cathy down in the Village for some serious shopping....Carrie and Cathy shopped..... I was serious ;-). We went by the spot where John Lennon was killed, where Bob Dylan began his singing career and where the in people go to shop....lots of tall, leggy men and woman and size 0 clothes in designer boutiques called Mark Jacobs, Cynthia Rowley, and Ralph Lauren. We went to a famous Village cheese shop called Murrays with wheels of 25 dollar a pound cheddars that looked so good....the smells and the people...it was unbelievable. There was a famous pastry shop that had a line of people waiting around the corner bringing out boxes of stuff that would have made your mouth water.....

We cabbed home in the late afternoon, Carry and Cathy dropped me off so I could spell the girls for dinner and they continued onto Macy’s for some more shopping. We have been blessed this evening with the arrival of the biggest blizzard to hit NYC in two years and as we finished our Village trip it began to fall.....so wonderful.

When Carrie got back we changed clothes and then she and I grabbed a cab and went uptown to Broadway to see “Spelling Bee” a wonderful award winning musical playing on Broadway right now that had my stomach hurting from laughing so hard. We again met Carrie’s aunt and uncle for that and then afterwards came out a couple of blocks from Time Square and walked all the way back to the hotel together through Time Square towards the Garden and through a roaring snow storm. Of course I have photos which will be posted and it was so terrific an adventure.

We got back to the room about 11am to find our two beautiful girls all dressed and ready to jump in a cab and head to the Pennsylvania Hotel for the Canine Chronicle Party! They are meeting Michael Brunner there for a few hours of downtime and fun. They looked so nice in their party clothes and were so excited to be going.

Carrie and I are waiting up for them to make sure we are all tucked in safely in a little bit. I am so exhausted and we sit her on the 20th floor watching the snow fall around the skyscrapers. The streets are clear still so no problem with transportation so far and the road that goes by the front door of the hotel goes straight to the dog show at the Pennsylvania tomorrow and the Garden on Monday and Tuesday...so no worries.

Well that’s all for tonight.....tomorrow we have our Niebur Dachshunds New York debut! More to come.......Lynn
